Made from pure hardwood dowels inoculated with mushroom mycelium, this is the easiest way to create your own mushroom logs. Choose from three sizes depending on the scope of your project: 40ct (makes 1 log), 200ct (makes 5 logs) or 1000ct (makes 25 logs). Logs and additional materials not included, please see our Mushroom Log section for more details. Besides the species listed, we’re happy to propagate any of our strains on dowels. Our sawdust spawn is suitable for either expanding further into a bulk fruiting substrate, or using to create mushroom logs. Our sawdust spawn comes in 5lb bags, and can inoculate up to 25 mushroom logs (with the aid of an inoculation tool), or 15-20 fruiting blocks of the same size.  Some of these techniques may require specialized knowledge and access to a sterile work environment.

Our grain spawn is made from 100% certified organic rye berries grown by Treasure Life Mills in Creston, BC. Each jar contains 500ml of sterilized grain, inoculated with the mushroom mycelium of your choice. Note that expanding grain spawn to a fruiting substrate takes skill and access to a sterile work space.
